It is important to stay calm when driving, after all you are controlling a machine weighing thousands of pounds. But you are also in control of your responses and reactions while driving, and it’s crucial to make good ones. If you drive on busy city streets during rush hour it’s quite likely you have been the unlucky recipient of road rage. Maybe you did something to offend another driver, or maybe you didn’t, but as long as you make the decision to stay calm hopefully whatever situation you find yourself in, it won’t escalate.

The 2018 Kia Sorento, a midsize SUV, qualifies for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, thanks to newly available acceptable-rated headlights. The 2017 Sorento qualified for the TOP SAFETY PICK award but fell short of the "plus" designation because it came only with poor headlights. Like the previous model, the new Sorento has good ratings in all five IIHS crashworthiness tests — small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints — and has an optional front crash prevention rating that earns a superior rating.

Uber has deployed two self-driving cars to Toronto streets as the company continues to research the technology but the vehicles will have a human driver behind the wheel, at least for now.The vehicles are being driven by specially-trained operators from Pittsburgh and are primarily being used to complete mapping work in and around the University of Toronto’s campus, according to Uber spokesperson Susie Heath. The testing comes about a year-and-a-half after the province enacted legislation that allows on-road testing of autonomous vehicles, so long as approved groups follow a list of precautions, including having a human in the driver’s seat at all times.
